Hello everyone. I’m back with my second review of WWE Main Event this week!
Alberto del Rio vs Big E Langston
-A rematch from RAW already? Surprised this wasn’t saved for Smackdown. I’m sure Teddy Long must have some kind of tag team match planned instead.
-If you ask me, A.J. Lee has been the most watchable Diva in the WWE since Trish Stratus left. She plays her part as a manager perfectly and she has made the psycho crazy chick gimmick work. And she is good in the ring to top it off. Of course, who doesn’t love her finisher too?
<- Ah now back to my comfort zone, WWE-style production. I don’t know if that’s good or bad.
Natalya vs Summer Rae
<- God it’s been so damn long, you forget that Natalya is a FREAKING HART! She can GO in the ring. Apparently her talents are better used to valet The Great Khali to the ring though.
<- Summer Rae is surprising me a lot with a few of the moves she’s pulling out. Reminds me of Maryse and she had a pretty good run in the WWE.
1. First thing I want to mention is that I’m glad my prediction came true and the new WWE Championship has customizable side plates. It’s a creative update to the traditional nameplate idea and should make for some pretty cool looking WWE Championship designs.
2. Ok, I’ll admit it. The “heel turn/dance move” line was pretty slick. Kudos to John Cena or whomever came up with that line.
Here’s another in the Weekend Wallpaper edition of our WrestleMania 29 series of matchup wallpapers: WWE Tag Team Championship Match – Team Hell No vs Dolph Ziggler & Big E Langston.
1. That opening segment with Paul Heyman started out very interestingly with the idea that Paul Heyman would take himself off of TV, eliminating any potential interaction between his two “clients” CM Punk and Brock Lesnar. Of course that all went out the window when he decided to remain in Punk’s corner but the tease was interesting and for some reason I don’t think we’ll be seeing Heyman after tonight. At least for a couple of weeks.
2. While we unfortunately have to sit through a 3MB match (and probably a promo) the fact that creative has the foresight to book John Cena, Sheamus and Ryback in a “warm up” match since they have never teamed before is terrific. Logical booking like this is what is desperately missing from the WWE, at least until now.
