And here we are again for another Main Event Review. And for the second week in a row, a match advertised on RAW did not take place on this show.
-About a year ago I thought this could have been a big main event match for the WWE. Now? Because there are so many hours of WWE TV to fill, it happens at least once a month.
-It’s amazing how much the Intercontinental Title has fallen in the last couple years. It looked like at one point the WWE was going to focus on it again. Now it might be lower than the Tag Titles. And that’s saying a lot how bad those Titles have been booked in recent years.
-Wade Barrett dominating early and just hit a really good looking kick with Sheamus in the ropes. Why is the WWE not pushing this guy again?
-Sheamus the in-ring wrestler is great to watch. He works very well with anyone he is in the ring with. Sheamus the character? Yeah, not a fan of that since his face turn.
-After a great exchange of big moves from both men, Barrett goes and throws Sheamus into the ringpost twice, then Sheamus immediately recovers with the Brogue Kick for the win. A very good match, but I don’t like that finish. Sheamus basically no sold those two post shots, even after the match. Why can’t the WWE take risks and let their heels win a big match here and there. It’d be better long term for the product.
-When talking about the John Cena/Ryback match they said the third fall, “If Necessary.” Come on WWE, we all know since you save the most important fall for last that it will happen.
-I love the Bray Wyatt promo. Looking forward to seeing what happens with that group.
-A match between two under-utilized talents. Gabriel could have been a solid mid-carder in the form of Kofi Kingston.
-Good back and forth exchanges before Antonio Cesaro wins with the Neutralizer. Short match. Main Event could have been this match plus the Sheamus/Wade Barrett match and I would have been happy.
-I don’t see how the WWE thinks Antonio Cesaro is boring yet they decide to push Curtis Axel.
R-Truth & Tons of Funk vs 3MB
-I hope Tensai is loving the paychecks he is getting. From serious threat in Japan to dancing fool in the WWE.
-With so many 3-Man groups in the WWE, maybe they should bring back the Six Man Tag Titles? Hahaha, no.
-The good guys win in quick fashion. Was this match really needed? Especially to end the show. Why not give more time to Cesaro and Gabriel?
-Another show with one solid match and a good short match. Anytime you see a good match on WWE TV these days, it has to be considered a decent show.
